Job summary

FORD is seeking a Vehicle Controls Engineer in Michigan to assist with design, implementation, testing, documentation, and support of software changes to Ford in-house control systems tools for Calibration Data management. You will work under the Vehicle Controls Tools Technical Specialist to deliver changes across global platforms.

The role requires strong C programming skills, embedded systems experience, and familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in C programming with embedded control systems experience.
• Experience developing applications in Unix/Linux environments; strong Linux programming skills.
• Familiarity with Postgres and SQL for database interfacing.
• Experience with Jira, Word/Excel/PowerPoint and code management processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, and test planned changes to software tools alongside the Vehicle Controls Tools Technical Specialist.
• Follow change control processes to bring approved changes to resolution.
• Provide user support globally via phone, email, Webex, IM, and one-on-one sessions.
• Create and maintain user accounts and access controls.
• Develop and deliver training materials to the global Ford community.
• Document changes in manuals and other media; participate in User Forum meetings.
