Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a detail‑oriented vehicle condition inspector in Springfield, MO to inspect trades and prepare condition reports for in-lane and online sales.

The role requires basic vehicle knowledge, accurate cost estimates for damage, and strong written reporting skills, with the ability to work outdoors in all weather and drive both manual and automatic transmissions. Valid DL and clean record are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Post high school training in damage assessment preferred.
• Background in automotive repair cost estimating preferred.
• Detail oriented; able to write reports professionally.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle identification.
• Identify and update vehicle information, including Year, Make, Model, Trim Lines.
• Inspect vehicle equipment, interior, tires, mechanical components.
• Document and estimate vehicle damages.
• Take photographs as needed to support and complete reports, or as necessary on sales days.
• Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas if needed.
• Review and document odometer information.
• Assess frame condition and document damages to unibody and/or frame.
• Assess mechanical condition of vehicle, documenting issues found during the condition report process
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
