Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a field-based Vegetation Management Specialist to assess vegetation near power lines and develop site-specific maintenance prescriptions. You will patrol rights-of-way, document conditions, and communicate with property owners to obtain permission for work.

In this role you will support foremen, conduct post-work quality inspections, oversee contractor safety, and participate in storm restoration drills, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Technical or GED pathway with 5 years of related experience may substitute for formal education.
• 1–3 years of experience in vegetation management or related field.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field assessments of vegetation near transmission and distribution circuits.
• Develop site-specific vegetation maintenance prescriptions for Transmission and Distribution projects.
• Patrol power line rights-of-way and document vegetation conditions.
• Notify property owners of planned vegetation maintenance work and negotiate permission for required vegetation control.
• Support foremen and vegetation maintenance crews in clarifying prescribed work.
• Perform post-work quality inspections and contractor safety oversight.
