Job summary

LUMA Energy is seeking a field-based Vegetation Management Specialist to oversee vegetation activities near power lines and ensure compliance with program requirements, standards, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include field verification, quality audits, contractor coordination, outage investigations, customer support, and data quality assurance. The role also supports storm restoration efforts and performs tasks to enhance reliability and safety for customers and crews.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or Associate degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Biology, or Agronomy.
• High School diploma (GED) with 5+ years of relevant vegetation-management experience.
• 1–3 years of vegetation management, natural resources, field operations, arboriculture, or environmental work.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts field assessment of vegetation near transmission and distribution circuits.
• Develops site-specific vegetation maintenance prescriptions for projects.
• Documents vegetation conditions; notes actions and post-work inspections.
• Identifies danger trees and vegetation hazards; coordinates with landowners.
• Supports foremen and crews in clarifying prescribed work; ensures safety and compliance.
• Participates in storm restoration tasks and drills to aid reliable service recovery.
