Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced VDI Engineer to support an IC customer/contract in the St. Louis, MO area. This position will support the design, configuration, and maintenance of a large, globally accessed virtual desktop environment. The role will serve as the SME in troubleshooting all related performance issues across the organization. Security requirements include a TS/SCI clearance and eligibility to obtain a CI polygraph.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide TIER 3/4 support to system administrators to resolve VDI issues.
  2. Guide on optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies.
  3. Offer endpoint support on issues and trouble resolution tasks related to Virtual Desktop.
  4. Maintain advanced knowledge in the administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure technologies.
  5. Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders.
  6. Apply extensive technical expertise and possess full knowledge of related disciplines.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later
  • Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS)
  • Citrix Cloud Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
  • Citrix Netscaler / ADC / VPX
  • Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM)
  • Citrix App Layering
  • Liquidware Profile Unity
  • Hyper V, VMWare VDI (Microsoft or Citrix NetScalers / ADCs)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience managing and administering Windows Server clustering
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
  • System Center Virtual Machine Manager / VMWare vCenter 6.7
  • Active Directory / Group Policies
  • Home Directory and Profile management Support Services
  • Desktop Software provisioning and Support Services

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years IT experience
