Job summary

Accelera Solutions is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to support USAF bases from Chantilly, VA in a hybrid role. You will design, build, and automate VDI deployments using Hyper-V and VMware, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-quality end-user experiences.

You will collaborate with DevOps and security teams, implement STIGs and NIST controls, maintain base images, monitor performance, and document configurations and procedures as part of the full lifecycle from planning

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Microsoft Server Administrator Associate Certification.
• 10+ years of relevant experience; bachelor’s degree may substitute for 5 years.
• 5+ years setting up/managing Azure and Kubernetes cloud infra.
• 5+ years AD DS/ADCS/ADFS/PKI/SSO on Windows and Azure.
• 5+ years logging/metrics at scale; 3+ years Hyper-V/VMware.
• 5+ years Windows Server, Windows 11, M365, networks, storage, AD.
• 5+ years scripting in Python/Bash/Ansible; Linux and Windows admin.
• Experience with STIGs/NIST/FedRAMP and IA partnership.
• Cloud migration experience; strong problem solving and communication.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and implement VDI solutions for scalability and security.
• Implement and maintain security best practices for VDI.
• Monitor VDI performance, identify issues, and optimize infrastructure.
• Develop automation scripts and templates for provisioning and deployment.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and sysadmins to support apps.
• Maintain documentation of architectures, configurations, and procedures.
