Job summary

Radiance Technologies is seeking a VDI Administrator to sustain an enterprise VDI environment using VMware ESXi/vSphere, Horizon, and Azure. The role focuses on day-to-day operation, troubleshooting, and image management, advancing your hands-on virtualization career in a cloud-centric desktop space.

The ideal candidate brings 1+ year in IT systems or desktop support with strong AD/PowerShell skills, Horizon familiarity, and the ability to document work and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of IT systems administration, desktop support, virtualization, or infrastructure operations.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi and virtual machines experience.
• Experience administering Windows 10/11 and Windows Server.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Troubleshooting desktop, network, app, and user-access issues.
• PowerShell or Windows command-line familiarity.
• Ability to document work and escalate complex issues.
• Strong customer-service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• CompTIA Security+ certification and security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the VDI infrastructure, pools, VMs, and endpoints.
• Troubleshoot user connectivity, login, desktop, application, and peripheral issues.
• Perform routine VM, Horizon, Windows, and endpoint administration.
• Assist with desktop image updates, software deployments, patches, and config changes.
• Support user accounts, groups, permissions, and desktop entitlements.
• Investigate alerts and escalate complex problems to senior engineers.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and support records.
• Participate in maintenance, upgrades, testing, and disaster-recovery exercises.

We are seeking a VDI Administrator to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and sustainment of an enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment utilizing VMware ESXi/vSphere, Omnissa Horizon, 10ZiG thin/zero clients, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 . This position is ideal for an IT professional looking to develop hands-on experience supporting enterprise virtualization and cloud-based desktop environments.

Required Experience:

• 1+ years of experience in IT systems administration, desktop support, virtualization, or infrastructure operations
• Basic working knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi and virtual machines
• Experience administering or troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and Windows Server
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
• Experience troubleshooting desktop, network, application, and user-access issues
• Familiarity with PowerShell or Windows command-line tools
• Ability to follow established procedures, document work, and escalation complex issues appropriately
• Strong customer-service, communication, and problem-solving skills
• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Experience:

• Experience supporting Omnissa/VMware Horizon , Horizon Client, Horizon Agent, or virtual desktop pools
• Experience with 10ZiG or other thin/zero-client technologies
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
• Basic understanding of virtual networking, VLANs, firewalls, and load balancing
• Experience with PowerShell scripting or automation
• Exposure to VMware vCenter, Horizon Connection Servers, UAG, App Volumes, or Dynamic Environment Manager
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, ticketing, patching, backup, and configuration-management processes
• VMware, Microsoft, Azure, CompTIA, or similar industry certifications

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT professional with a strong troubleshooting mindset who wants to build a career in enterprise VDI and cloud infrastructure. Experience with Horizon is beneficial but not necessarily required if the candidate has solid Windows, VMware, networking, or systems-administration fundamentals and demonstrates the ability and desire to learn.
