Interstates is seeking a Virtual Design and Construction Technician (VDC Tech) to create models and drawing sets using established standards. You will collaborate with teams to learn best practices and incorporate design decisions into deliverables.

The role involves navigating systems, refining models, and adhering to project workflows to meet schedules. Travel may be required, and experience with virtual design tools is favored.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or an associate degree (A.A., A.S.) from a two-year college or technical college required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a virtual design, construction, or related technical field preferred.
• Foundational experience with virtual modeling software, construction documentation, or technical design applications.

Responsibilities

• Create deliverable sets based on direction from others by navigating systems and operating tools efficiently.
• Learn tool functionality by researching and leveraging mentorship and other available resources.
• Continuously improve methods and efficiency by collaborating with others.
• Modify models, data, or drawing sets based on direction from others.
• Communicate effectively using virtual and in-person collaboration tools with internal and external teams.
• Apply model and scope changes by adjusting deliverables as required.
• Document and archive revisions by adhering to established procedures.
• Follow project workflows and agreed upon standards to meet typical deliverable requirements and schedules.
• Perform self-checks to identify and correct major errors and deviations from best practices.
• Assist in peer reviewing others' work to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Self-perform advanced design tasks with direction.
• Provide continuous improvement suggestions for tools and processes.
• Work directly with manufacturing and construction teams to deliver constructable design.
