Job summary

MYCO Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented VDC Plumbing Detailer to develop detailed 3D plumbing models using Revit and BIM software for commercial projects. You will coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to deliver constructible systems and fabrication-ready drawings.

The role requires 2+ years in plumbing detailing or BIM/VDC, with strong reading of drawings and specifications, and a solid understanding of commercial plumbing practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in plumbing detailing, BIM modeling, or VDC.
• Ability to model sloped sanitary and storm pipe.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings: MEP, Structural, Architectural, and Civil)
• Ability to read and interpret specifications.
• Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems and installation practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Model plumbing systems with manufacturer content.
• Model sloped storm water and sanitary systems to project specs and current codes.
• Create and maintain detailed 3D plumbing models using Revit and other BIM software.
• Produce coordination drawings, installation drawings, and fabrication spool sheets.
• Participate in multidisciplinary BIM coordination meetings.
• Identify and resolve clashes with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, structural, and architectural systems using.
• Review construction documents, specifications, and project requirements.
• Support plumbing prefabrication efforts through fabrication-ready models and drawings.
• Generate hanger layouts, sleeve drawings, penetration drawings, and field layout information.
• Incorporate design revisions, RFIs, and field changes into project models.
• Work closely with project management and field teams to improve constructability and installation efficiency.
• Conduct quality control reviews to ensure model accuracy and adherence to company standards.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated VDC Plumbing Detailer to join our growing team. In this role you will utilize your knowledge and expertise in plumbing system layout and routing while leveraging BIM and VDC technologies to develop highly detailed 3D plumbing models that support coordination, prefabrication, and successful project execution and installation. You will collaborate with project managers, field personnel, engineers, and other trade partners to deliver accurate and constructible plumbing systems for a variety of commercial construction projects.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years of experience in plumbing detailing, BIM modeling, or VDC.
• Proficiency in understanding how to model sloped sanitary and storm pipe
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings: MEP, Structural, Architectural, and Civil)
• Ability to read and interpret specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret submittal documents.
• Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems and installation practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

• Experience in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
• Experience with Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with Navisworks.
• Previous experience with commercial, healthcare, industrial, or institutional construction projects.
• Familiarity with prefabrication processes.
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM 360.
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and industry standards.
