Job summary

The Weitz Company in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a VDC Manager to lead the design, management and implementation of VDC systems on projects nationwide. You will coordinate 3D/4D/5D models, support field operations and drive process improvements.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree, at least five years in architectural services, construction or manufacturing, including two years in VDC/BIM management, plus experience with drones, LiDAR, and Autodesk tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an industry-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years in architectural services, construction or manufacturing with at least two years in VDC/BIM management.
• LEAN principles experience desirable; OSHA 10/30 preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Apply VDC technologies onsite with project teams.
• Provide tech expertise on drones, robotics, laser scanning, reality capture.
• Leverage 3D/4D/5D content to support VDC design and execution.
• Coordinate workflows between preconstruction and field operations.
• Lead VDC training sessions with the learning team.
• Produce VDC estimates and cost analysis as requested.
• Maintain VDC standards and manage updates.
• Mentor team members and delegate development tasks.
• Manage and maintain site models, coordination models, and As-Built models.
• Weekly drone flights and data processing; laser scanning; reality capture.
