Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an experienced VDC Engineer II to join our team and be based out of one of our office locations across the United States. Responsibilities include developing and coordinating VDC models, providing field support, applying 3D/4D/5D tools, and collaborating with project teams to streamline workflows throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Previous internship experience in a construction role supporting VDC.
• LEAN principles experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement.
• Initiative and strong decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate VDC models with increasing independence.
• Provide field support including plans, takeoffs, coordination, visualizations, scheduling, LiDAR, photos, and drone ops.
• Apply 3D/4D/5D tools to improve workflows; create models and renderings.
• Collaborate with project teams to implement VDC workflows across the project lifecycle.
• Manage RFIs, ASIs, and digital documentation workflows with accuracy.
• Provide basic training and contribute to VDC standards and materials.
• Research and test new software/hardware; identify improvements.
• Prepare visuals and documentation to highlight VDC contributions for marketing.
• Represent the VDC team on jobsites and meetings; stay current with tools.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
