Job summary

DAVIS Construction in Rockville, MD, is seeking a Virtual Construction Manager to lead BIM/VC strategy, coordination, and integration across multiple projects. This role bridges executive project management, BIM strategy, and construction delivery, ensuring digital workflows support schedule, cost, risk mitigation, and field execution.

Required: bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years in Virtual Construction/BIM/VDC with strong leadership, tool selection, and collaboration across VDC, field

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, or related field, or equivalent years of experience
  • A minimum of six (6) years in Virtual Construction / BIM / VDC within a commercial construction environment at a General Contractor or large trade partner
  • Operations experience preferred
  • Strong technical background across BIM and Reality Capture technologies and software platforms
  • Advanced knowledge and experience collaborating across VDC, Field Services, Quality, and Safety teams
  • Proven experience managing people, BIM trade coordination workflows, and deliverables on complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and enforce standards and QA/QC processes
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to guide tool selection and workflow decisions

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-level BIM trade coordination from planning through completion, including coordination meetings, clash detection, and reports
  • Align decisions with master schedule, look-ahead planning, procurement timelines, and field execution strategies
  • Establish and communicate BIM Execution Plans, modeling standards, LOD requirements, and data workflows
  • Oversee development and quality control of VC deliverables and RFP visualizations
  • Provide technical leadership across multiple projects and promote effective BIM/VDC use
  • Evaluate and support adoption of BIM/VDC hardware, software, and platforms
  • Assist with oversight of VC budgets and project estimates
  • Build relationships with trade partners and project teams to support schedules
  • Mentor junior staff and lead training on advanced tools and workflows
  • Represent DAVIS at industry events and contribute to business planning

Establishes, enforces, and communicates company BIM Execution Plans, modeling standards, LOD requirements, and data workflows to ensure consistent, high-quality Virtual Construction deliverables across projects

Overseesdevelopment and quality control of advanced Virtual Construction deliverables, including coordination findings, sitelogistics, and RFP visualizations, ensuring alignment with client goals, companystandards, and project-specific requirements

Provides technical leadership across multiple projects, guiding complex coordination challenges and promoting effective use of BIM/VDC tools, workflows, and model-based analysis

Evaluates, selects, and supports adoption of BIM/VDC hardware, software, and platforms, andestablishesdepartmental practices for model calibration, updates, and field implementation

Assistswith oversight of Virtual Construction budgets, including development and management of VC project estimates, tracking changes, and providing regular financial updates to project teams

Builds andmaintainsstrong relationships with trade partners and project teams, sets coordination expectations, and supports development and execution of Virtual Construction schedules

Manages andmentorsjunior staff, conducts performance reviews, leads training on advanced tools and methodologies, and supports continuous improvement of workflows
