SUMMARY:

The Project Executive is responsible for the daily management, supervision, coordination and successful completion of construction projects to meet time and cost objectives with respect to preconstruction, contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, subcontracting and contract administration functions while developing, mentoring and providing overall leadership to the project teams. Position also entails business development process with identification and procurement of new projects, and involvement in internal and external industry initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent
construction experience

General Contracting experience

Minimum of twelve (12) years previous construction experience

Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction project management, including safety standards

Decision making, research and analytical problem-solving skills

Demonstrated ability to understand and learn technical systems and processes

Strong ability to effectively manage and lead junior team members

Strong ability to organize, assess, and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels within the
organization

Effectively balances competing priorities to maintain focus on key deliverables and efficient use of staff and resources

Project management and scheduling software experience

Sustainable building experience (such as LEED certified projects)

Certifications / accreditations (CPR / First Aid, OSHA 30-hour, WELL, ILFI, LEED) preferred

TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Enforces safety programs in accordance with policies and laws

Manages the construction process, including schedule, logistics, and change management

Educates and guides project team on subcontract terms and conditions

Leads and executes the proposal management process

Communicates clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats, tailoring messages for various audiences to ensure understanding; communicates and breaks down concepts in an easy-to-understand way that motivates and leads subordinates and stakeholders

Proactively negotiates work, schedules, and logistical access with clients that minimize safety, quality, and schedule risks; guides design teams in the use of materials; plans and procures work and coordinates with regulatory entities, neighboring properties and the owner

Develops and oversees cost estimates, budgets, scopes of work, and project schedules

Leads project preconstruction services and identifies long lead items

Communicates long term vision and goals, including economic and business objectives, to internal teams, stakeholders, and clients

Collaborates with stakeholders to develop, evaluate, and select strategies that achieve project and organizational goals

Manages and leads junior team members; reviews work product, strengthens necessary job skills, communicates performance concerns, provides resources for development; conducts performance reviews

Anticipates and supports team members’ needs through accurate knowledge of their responsibilities, capabilities and workload; participants in staffing coordination for future projects

Maintains team morale and motivation while ensuring accountability and preventing complacency

Ensures proper documentation, reporting, and monthly project status updates
