Job summary
Austin Commercial is seeking a VDC Engineer to join our North Texas Division. You will serve as the BIM/VDC Model Administrator, implementing BIM/VDC processes, creating 4D schedules and coordinating models on assigned projects.
Responsibilities include field support, staff training, and conflict resolution to ensure accurate models and efficient project delivery. This role offers ESOP participation and a path for career growth within a leading construction firm.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of project engineering experience (Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or equivalent)
- Thorough knowledge of BIM/VDC processes and software
- Understanding of project delivery methods and their impact on BIM/VDC services
- Strong problem solving, communication and public speaking skills
- Understanding of construction terminology, materials, drawings and specs
- Understanding of scheduling concepts and construction sequencing
- Understanding of quality control principles
Responsibilities
- Serve as BIM/VDC Model Administrator for assigned projects
- Implement BIM/VDC processes on projects
- Provide field support for BIM/VDC activities
- Train project staff on BIM/VDC processes
- Create and manage 4D schedules and coordination files
- Lead BIM/VDC coordination efforts and resolve conflicts
- Generate model-based quantity takeoffs and distributions
- Assist in FM implementation strategies as needed
