Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking a VDC Engineer to join the North Texas Division. You will serve as the BIM/VDC Model Administrator on projects, implementing BIM/VDC processes, and spending time at sites to ensure field alignment with digital models.

You will train staff, coordinate with project teams, and present BIM/VDC outcomes at conferences, while maintaining model quality and supporting quantity takeoff and estimates.

Qualifications

• BIM/VDC knowledge and software skills required.
• Minimum 3 years of project engineering experience in construction.
• Strong communication and public speaking abilities.
• Familiarity with CM methods (CMR, DBB, IPD).
• Solid understanding of drawings, specs, and sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the BIM/VDC Model Administrator on assigned projects.
• Implements Austin Commercial BIM/VDC processes on assigned projects.
• Spends time at the jobsite implementing BIM/VDC field construction processes.
• Supports BIM/VDC staff training on assigned projects.
• Markets BIM/VDC services internally and externally.
• Presents BIM/VDC projects at industry conferences and forums.
• Creates and manages 4D schedules and model coordination.
• Leads BIM/VDC coordination and resolves conflicts.
• Validates model accuracy and quantity takeoff for estimates.
