Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking a self-motivated VDC Engineer to join our internal Virtual Design & Construction team, focusing on BIM coordination, model verification, and technology-driven solutions across projects.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's in engineering, architecture, or construction management and 3–5 years of VDC/BIM experience, with proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, CAD, and rendering tools. Strong communication and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in a related field with 3–5 years BIM/VDC experience.
• Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks; CAD and rendering tools.
• Ability to read drawings, understand specifications, and work with cross-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Creating virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, scheduling, and VR experiences.
• Manage 3D coordination activities with operation teams from project kickoff through closeout.
• Perform preconstruction model tasks - quality verifications, schedule validations, constructability reviews, and virtual mock-up production.
• Drive research and development of new software, hardware, and technology to optimize the team's execution and overall project quality.
