The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an energetic VDC internship candidate to assist in virtual design and construction tasks. The role trains in Austin, TX and will transfer to Houston, TX to support ongoing projects.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and able to work both independently and within a team to deliver innovative, efficient solutions using BIM tools and 3D coordination techniques.

Responsabilidades

• Create virtual simulations to validate site logistics, safety, sequencing, scheduling, and VR experiences.
• Manage 3D coordination with operations from kickoff through closeout.
• Perform preconstruction model tasks—quality verifications, schedule validations, constructability reviews, and virtual mock-ups.
• Drive R&D of new software, hardware, and technology to optimize execution and project quality.

This internship is located in Austin, TX, to train with the VDC group while assisting with projects associated with the Houston, TX, office. The successful candidate will ultimately transfer to Houston.

Typical Daily tasks include:

• Creating virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, scheduling, and VR experiences.
• Manage 3D coordination activities with operation teams from project kickoff through closeout.
• Perform preconstruction model tasks – quality verifications, schedule validations, constructability reviews, and virtual mock-up production.
• Drive research and development of new software, hardware, and technology to optimize the team’s execution and overall project quality.
