Qualifications

• Bachelors in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management preferred, or an equivalent VDC/BIM program.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience or coursework in BIM/VDC environments.
• Proficiency with BIM software and project coordination tools is expected.
• Ability to read drawings, comprehend specifications, and apply building codes.

Responsibilities

• Create virtual simulations to validate site logistics, safety, sequencing, scheduling, and VR experiences.
• Coordinate 3D models with operations teams from kick-off through closeout.
• Perform preconstruction model tasks: quality checks, schedule validation, constructability reviews, and virtual mock-ups.
• Drive R&D of new software, hardware, and tech to improve project delivery.

This internship is located in Austin, TX, to train with the VDC group while assisting with projects associated with the Houston, TX, office. The successful candidate will ultimately transfer to Houston.

Typical Daily tasks include:

1. Creating virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, scheduling, and VR experiences.
2. Manage 3D coordination activities with operation teams from project kickoff through closeout.
3. Perform preconstruction model tasks -- quality verifications, schedule validations, constructability reviews, and virtual mock-up production.
4. Drive research and development of new software, hardware, and technology to optimize the team's execution and overall project quality.
