Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. is seeking a Integrated Construction Tech Specialist in Abilene, TX. The role focuses on building and validating virtual models from plans and specs, coordinating trade detailing, and integrating VDC tools into project workflows.

You will work with estimators, managers, and project teams to drive BIM execution, 4D scheduling, and model collaboration across disciplines. Strong reading of drawings and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a buildings-industry related degree or certificate.
• 2–4 years construction-related experience, including 1–2 years in VDC/ BIM.
• Understanding of construction sequencing and process in building projects.
• Able to read/interpret 2D and 3D drawings and convert to BIM/4D models.
• Proficient in 3D modeling and VDC software; familiar with trade coordination.

Responsibilities

• Builds, reviews, or validates virtual models from plans, specs, and elevations.
• Collaborates on development of construction-site logistics models.
• Supervises coordination of trade detailing and design deliverables.
• Assists during pursuit stage to review scopes for VDC incorporation.
• Supports model compliance checks with estimating and BIM execution plans.
• Facilitates trade partner model coordination and reporting to project management.
• Ensures multidiscipline construction models are current and standards are followed.
• Participates in kickoff meetings and manages RFIs related to VDC.
• Promotes adoption of virtual construction tools across project teams.
