Job summary

Okland Construction in Texas is seeking a VDC Engineer to drive construction technology, modeling, coordination, and visualization for complex projects. You will support 2D/3D model development, site logistics, and cross-disciplinary coordination using Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Assemble.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in CM/Architecture/CE, 2+ years in commercial construction or VDC, and hands-on BIM experience.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction or VDC/bim coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with BIM and VDC technologies (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Assemble).
  • Experience developing and coordinating 2D/3D construction models for building, site, and MEP coordination.
  • Familiarity with 4D scheduling, reality capture, drone applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain 2D and 3D construction models to support planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Create detailed visual deliverables: site logistics plans, sequencing graphics, coordination drawings.
  • Coordinate across architectural, structural, civil, and MEP systems to resolve conflicts early.
  • Build models supporting 4D scheduling and project visualization for active projects and preconstruction.

About This Opportunity

We're looking for a VDC Engineer in Texas who is passionate about construction technology and enjoys collaborating with project teams to deliver exceptional results. In this role, you'll support modeling, coordination, and estimating efforts across a variety of projects using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Assemble. To be successful, you'll need hands‑on experience with these platforms and a background in vertical construction. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
Virtual Design & Modeling
  • Develop and maintain 2D and 3D construction models to support project planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Create detailed visual deliverables, including site logistics plans, construction sequencing graphics, and coordination drawings.
  • Support multidisciplinary coordination efforts across architectural, structural, civil, and MEP systems to help identify and resolve conflicts early.
  • Build and enhance models that support 4D scheduling and project visualization for both active projects and preconstruction pursuits.
Project Collaboration & Planning
  • Partner with project teams to develop site‑specific logistics plans that improve safety, efficiency, and constructability.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and planning sessions, providing modeling insights that support informed project decisions.
  • Maintain and update project logistics models throughout the project lifecycle to reflect evolving site conditions and construction plans.
Business Development Support
  • Contribute to pursuit and preconstruction efforts by creating compelling visualizations, logistics plans, and construction sequencing models.
  • Participate in business development and project positioning activities, helping communicate project approaches and value to clients and partners.
YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, virtual design and construction (VDC), BIM coordination, or a related discipline.
  • Hands‑on experience with BIM and VDC technologies, including software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Assemble.
  • Experience developing and coordinating 2D/3D construction models for building, site, and MEP coordination activities.
  • Familiarity with 4D scheduling, reality capture technologies, point cloud processing, and drone applications in construction is a plus.
