Job summary

Okland Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to lead field crews on vertical commercial projects ranging from $5M to $15M in Arizona. You will drive project execution, uphold safety, quality, and schedule while mentoring craft staff and coordinating with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

Day-to-day duties include coordinating trades, managing site logistics, and maintaining reports, RFIs, shop drawings, and punch lists; leading coordination meetings to keep CPM schedules on

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of commercial construction experience with increasing field leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting vertical commercial construction projects ranging from $5M to $15M.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and CPM schedules.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Self-perform concrete experience preferred.

We're looking for an Assistant Superintendent who can help drive project execution on vertical construction projects ranging from $5M to $15M while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and accountability.

In this role, you'll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and craft professionals to keep projects moving forward and deliver an exceptional experience for everyone involved. Experience with self-perform concrete and strong field coordination skills will help you stand out. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
Field Operations & Project Execution
  • Support daily field operations, coordinating trade partners, self-perform crews, material deliveries, and site logistics.
  • Maintain project documentation including daily reports, site photos, RFIs, shop drawings, as-built drawings, punch lists, and project action items.
  • Ensure all work is completed according to plans, specifications, quality standards, and current project documents.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, commissioning efforts, inspections, and occupancy requirements.
Scheduling & Coordination
  • Maintain and communicate the rolling three-week schedule while helping identify and mitigate schedule risks.
  • Coordinate staging, site access, hoisting plans, deliveries, and workforce movement to maximize productivity.
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and safety orientations.
  • Work with project teams to keep CPM schedules accurate and support milestone achievement.
Safety & Leadership
  • Promote and enforce Okland’s safety culture through daily oversight, inspections, orientation, and accountability.
  • Mentor craft employees and field staff, fostering ownership, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Build strong working relationships with owners, architects, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
  • Ensure jobsite compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and field experience.
  • 3-5 years of commercial construction experience with increasing field leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting vertical commercial construction projects ranging from $5M to $15M.
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling, quality control, safety management, and project closeout processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and CPM schedules.
  • Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Self-perform concrete experience preferred.
