Job summary

Okland Construction seeks a commercial construction superintendent to lead complex vertical projects ranging from $30M to $100M. You will oversee schedules, logistics, subcontractor coordination and field execution while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or 10+ years of related commercial construction experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, CPM schedules, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise field staff while maintaining productivity, safety, and performance standards across the project.
  • Mentor team members and foster a positive jobsite culture built on accountability, collaboration, and ownership.
  • Manage timecards, payroll submissions, and compliance with hiring practices.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including master schedules and 3-week lookaheads.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project timelines and resolve challenges.
  • Identify potential delays and develop recovery plans with the project team.
  • Ensure adherence to safety programs and maintain documentation requirements.
  • Lead quality checks, commissioning activities, inspections, and jurisdictional approvals.
  • Verify subcontractor work aligns with scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Support contract compliance, documentation, and resolution of project issues.
  • Oversee site mobilization, layout, permits, stormwater requirements, and jobsite logistics.
  • Initiate closeout activities early and ensure timely completion of punch lists, inspections, and warranty items.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on change orders, cash flow, reporting, and project performance.
  • Represent Okland professionally with owners, partners, and project stakeholders.

About This Opportunity

Okland is looking for a commercial construction superintendent with a proven track record of successfully leading challenging vertical construction projects with complex architectural design elements. In this role, you will oversee projects ranging from $30M-$100M in scope, managing schedules, logistics, subcontractor coordination, and field execution while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
Field Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise field staff while maintaining productivity, safety, and performance standards across the project.
  • Mentor team members and foster a positive jobsite culture built on accountability, collaboration, and ownership.
  • Manage timecards, payroll submissions, and compliance with hiring practices.
Project & Schedule Management
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including master schedules and 3-week lookaheads, to keep milestones on track.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project timelines and resolve challenges proactively.
  • Identify potential delays and collaborate with the project team to develop recovery plans.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to safety programs, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, RFIs, submittals, logs, and meeting notes.
  • Lead quality checks, commissioning activities, inspections, and jurisdictional approvals.
Subcontractor & Project Execution
  • Verify subcontractor work aligns with project scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Support contract compliance, documentation, and resolution of project issues.
  • Oversee site mobilization, layout, permits, stormwater requirements, and jobsite logistics.
Closeout & Client Partnership
  • Initiate closeout activities early and ensure timely completion of punch lists, inspections, and warranty items.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on change orders, cash flow, reporting, and project performance.
  • Represent Okland professionally while building trusted relationships with owners, partners, and project stakeholders.
YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or 10+ years of related commercial construction experience.
  • Proven experience managing complex vertical construction projects with $30M-$100M project scopes.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, safety regulations, building codes, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, CPM schedules, and contract documents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with construction tools, equipment, and jobsite operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
