Moore's Electrical and Mechanical is seeking a VDC/BIM Detailer – Mechanical Piping/Plumbing for the Altavista Fabrication Hub. You will develop detailed 3D models of mechanical piping and plumbing systems, interpret drawings and submittals, and support prefabrication by coordinating with field teams.

This role bridges modeling work and fabrication, with opportunities to see models become real assemblies and to improve processes through collaboration with project, field, VDC and prefabrication

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical piping and plumbing construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Experience with BIM tools a plus.

VDC/BIM Detailer – Mechanical Piping / Plumbing

The Role:

The VDC Detailer develops coordinated, constructible models for mechanical piping and plumbing systems while helping move more work from the field into Prefabrication.

Based at our Altavista VDC & Fabrication Hub, you'll work alongside VDC and fabrication operations with a direct connection to the people building and installing what you model.

We're looking for someone who can bridge the gap between what is modeled and what actually gets built.

Experienced VDC candidates are encouraged to apply, but VDC experience isn't the only path into this role. Experienced plumbers, pipefitters, or mechanical tradespeople with strong computer aptitude and an interest in transitioning into VDC are also encouraged to apply.

Our Altavista Fabrication Hub allows you to see your models become real assemblies, work directly with the people fabricating and installing them, and continuously improve the process:

What You'll Do:

• Develop detailed 3D models for mechanical piping and plumbing systems.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Participate in VDC/BIM coordination and resolve clashes with other trades.

• Work directly with project, field, VDC, and Prefabrication partners to solve problems and improve our processes.

You Bring:

• Mechanical piping, plumbing, pipefitting, or related construction knowledge.
• Strong mechanical/spatial aptitude and understanding of constructability.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Revit, Autodesk Fabrication, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar VDC/BIM experience is preferred.
