The Nurse Clinician demonstrates a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex patients and their responses to actual or potential health problems. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.
The Nurse Clinician provides direction, education, leadership, and accountability for program development, implementation, and evaluation in the area of responsibility. This role includes professional development and empowerment of staff as well as management of resources to promote desired outcomes with attention to quality, efficiency, and cost.
Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
Current RN Licensure in Virginia.
AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
Has full authority and accountability for direction and leadership of program planning, guideline development, and setting of practice standards within the confines of organizations/divisions/units mission, goals, and objectives.
Manages human, fiscal, and other resources to ensure quality programs/processes/services with measurable positive outcomes.
Negotiable with immediate supervisor in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
Will generally work day shift, but may require flexibility for special projects or to meet organization and staff needs.
As appropriate based on unit assignment.
Physical: Lifting 20-50 lbs. Lifting 50-100 lbs.
Activities: Prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing (steps, ladder, other), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).
Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speak clearly, write legibly, reading, logical thinking.
Emotional: Fast-paced environment, steady pace, able to handle multiple priorities, frequent and intense customer interactions, noisy environment, able to adapt to frequent change.
