Job summary

Occidental Chemical Corporation is seeking an experienced VCM Production Superintendent for the Ingleside Plant in Gregory, Texas. You will lead production planning, safety programs, and capital project interfaces to deliver reliable operations while managing costs.

Key responsibilities include coordinating shutdowns, optimizing plant performance, and driving continuous improvement across maintenance and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering, with at least five years of plant process experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English.
• Ability to respond to off-hour emergencies and work weekends/holidays.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
• Able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, and wear PPE including respirator.
• SAP knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, environmental protection, and health for employees and communities.
• Develop programs to reduce costs and improve plant efficiency and productivity.
• Manage capital budget and interface with project engineering to implement new processes.
• Plan and execute shutdowns, decontamination, and start-ups with input from supervisors.
• Provide technical assistance during planning for equipment shutdowns.
• Direct on key parameters, maintenance priorities, and budgeted costs.
• Develop annual operating budget and control costs within limits.
• Identify fixed cost savings opportunities and report monthly.
• Ensure consistent operations and policy adherence across shifts.
• Coordinate outages with management, external suppliers, and customers.
• Collaborate with maintenance to schedule routine and capital work.
