Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a highly motivated VC Partnerships Manager to join our Startup Go To Market team in San Francisco. You will form and manage relationships with top venture capital funds, accelerators, and startup ecosystems to help startups deploy OpenAI models and grow quickly.

This role blends technical understanding with strategy and partnership building, requiring cross-functional collaboration across product, research, engineering, marketing, and solutions architecture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience managing high-value external relationships (customers, partners, investors, Board of Directors) and working with founders/ executives.
• Public speaking skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience as a founder, VC investor, or early employee at a fast-growing startup.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop partner-level relationships with top venture funds, accelerators, and external partners.
• Develop strategies to drive adoption of OpenAI models among thousands of startups.
• Identify opportunities for 1:many engagements and events with founders and VC firms.
• Provide technical guidance to startups in 1:1 engagements with internal teams.
• Represent OpenAI at startup ecosystem events and speaking engagements.
• Analyze metrics within startup portfolios and provide insights to stakeholders.
• Contribute to programs and initiatives for startup customers.
• Advocate for improving the startup experience building with OpenAI.
• Closely monitor industry landscape to inform product roadmap and strategies.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, operations, and other teams.
• Support recruitment/onboarding of teammates and contribute to company culture.
