Job Title: Head of External Ventures and VC Relations (US)

Position Summary

Leveraging a far-reaching network within the US Deeptech VC community and broader Deeptech venturing ecosystem, the Head of External Ventures and VC Relations (US) plays a pivotal role in aligning the US venture ecosystem with imec’s global venturing activities. The primary mission of this role is to enhance the profitability of imec’s venturing activities and accelerate the scaling of imec deeptech ventures.

This role is centered on two main strategic levers:

• Driving participation of US Deeptech VCs in financing rounds of imec ventures, leading to stronger valuation outcomes
• Identifying promising external early-stage ventures for strategic collaboration, where imec can gain equity or equivalent value through partnerships involving IP, joint research, or technology services

Beyond these core responsibilities, the Head of External Ventures and VC Relations (US) will support imec’s global venturing strategy by utilizing their network and strategic insight.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop US Deeptech VC Relationships

• psBuild and expand imec’s network with relevant US Deeptech VC firm
• s.Grow the number and depth of VC relationships engaging with imec venture
• s.Propose and implement initiatives to enhance local VC engagemen
• t.Present imec venture opportunities to VCs and support related fundraising activitie
• s.Facilitate VC participation or leadership in imec venture funding round

2. External Dealflow Development

• ntMaintain visibility into early-stage deal flow through key VC channel
• s.Identify ventures where imec can add value via background IP, joint R&D, or specialized service
• s.Collaborate with imec HQ to define the scope and terms of these engagement
• s.Negotiate deals and close contracts that ensure imec receives long-term upside, preferably through equity and potential royaltie
• s.Help shape imec’s external venturing offering and financial mechanism

3. Supporting Activities

• esSupport the Head of Venturing Acceleration and Ecosystem (US) with introductions to talent, VCs, domain experts, and potential customer
• s.Promote imec’s venturing activities through participation in key events and medi
• a.Represent imec at US-based deeptech venture forums and contribute to branding initiative
• s.Contribute to thought leadership materials, including white papers on deeptech venturin
