Job summary

The Brink's Global Services USA, Inc. seeks a Precious Metals Clerk to monitor and verify inbound and outbound shipments in a secure vault facility at Springfield Gardens, NY.

The role requires precise inventory control and adherence to security procedures in an armed environment. The position offers $22.50 per hour on the AM shift, with a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years shipping/receiving experience in a logistics environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• Valid firearms permit or ability to pass licensing.
• Valid guard card or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Accept and deliver shipments of precious metals to/from the facility.
• Audit inventory to ensure vault integrity.
• Check in shipments and reconcile with documents.
• Complete audit-compliant paperwork for shipments.
• Prepare shipments for outbound transport.
• Distribute metals according to customer requests.
• Coordinate with Global Services supervisors and staff.
• Maintain proper handling of forms and packages.
• Support projects as needed.
• Follow security regulations and protect property.
• Work across vault locations as required.
• Support a flexible schedule including after-hours.

AM Shift

Job Summary

The Vault Clerk is responsible for monitoring, processing and verifying inbound and outbound shipments in the facility by physically sorting customer shipments, verifying inventory detail by comparing actual inventory to paperwork and otherwise ensuring precise control and record-keeping. This position functions in an armed environment and requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink's and its customers, as well as the safety of all on the premises of Brink's.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept and deliver shipments of precious metals for BGS or outside carrier at facility.
• Perform audits on existing inventory to ensure vault integrity.
• Check in shipment from document provided by shipper or generated by Vault Manager, match pre-advised inventory detail to physical inventory
• Complete necessary, audit-compliant paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments
• Prepare shipments of precious metal to be sent out of facility, using allocation report (or other)
• Physically distribute individual precious metals to conform to customer requests and/or exchange warrants
• Coordinate and work directly with Global Services supervisory and ops staff
• Ensure that all forms and packages are handled appropriately
• Assist with projects as necessary
• Provide security by adhering to the General Security regulations
• Work between BGS Precious Metal Vault locations as business dictates
• Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required
• Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of shipping and receiving experience and/or related industry experience processing shipments/working in a fast paced logistics environment.
• Demonstrated PC proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• A valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms licensing requirements
• A valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses
• Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the assigned work day

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the freight or security transportation business
• Experience providing efficient and accurate customer services for import/export customers.
• Experience in banking handling currency or working in an environment where high value liability is managed/stored.
