ColumbiaCare Services is hiring a Veterans Affairs Housing (VASH) Case Manager to work on-site in Seattle, WA. You will assist veterans in obtaining necessary documentation and coordinate with housing authorities to identify eligible Section 8 housing, aiding with applications and move-in arrangements.

The role requires a master’s level clinician with licensure (or progress toward licensure), travel within King County, BLS certification, and knowledge of landlord-tenant laws.

Qualifications

• Licensure to practice independently or progress toward licensure per WA DOH.
• Experience with veterans or public housing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterans with documentation (birth certificates, driver’s licenses, income verification).
• Coordinate with local Public Housing Authority and landlords.
• Identify landlords with Section 8 housing; help with applications and moving in.
• Ensure compliance with VA/HUD-VASH programs and landlord-tenant laws.
• Occasional travel within King County; maintain valid driver's license.

About the Position

We are looking for a Veterans Affairs Housing (VASH) Case Managerto join our team to work on-sitein Seattle, Washington! The VASH Case Manager will ensure compliance with VA service providers and HUD-VASH program. They will assist veterans to obtain documentation such as: birth certificates, driver’s license, income verification and any additional information requested by the housing authority or landlord. The VASH Case Manager will coordinate with local Public Housing Authority; identify landlords with available housing eligible for Section 8 rental and assist veterans with completing apartment applications and moving in arrangements. They will also have knowledge of Washing landlord Tenant Laws.

Technology Requirement

Employees are required to maintain access to a compatible smartphone capable of supporting the organization’s approved multi-factor authentication (MFA) application as a condition of employment. This requirement enables secure access to company systems.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (Full Time, Day)

What You’ll Make

$6,680.70-$7,250 per month DOE/Credentials.Additional 5% Language Differential offered for Bilingual or Multilingual candidates.

About the Program

VASH works directly with Veterans by assisting them in navigating very complex systems (rental applications and requirements, HUD subsidy applications, benefits systems, public transportation, etc.), providing other supportive assistance, helping them maintain residence, and teaching skills to help them become as stably housed and independent as possible in the community.

ColumbiaCare Services is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.

What You’ll Need

Candidates MUST have the following:

• Master’s degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field.

Additional qualifications are PREFERRED:

• Knowledge of community resources and familiarity with HUD vouchering and rental assistant systems
• Experience working with individuals who have/are experiencing homelessness and/or the public housing authority
• Preference will be given to Veterans

Case Manager MUST be master’s level clinicians AND licensed to practice independently OR actively working towards master’s level licensure as verified via the Washington State Department of Health. Chosen candidates will be required to complete the VA’s VASH orientation and training, have the ability to travel (mostly within King County), and be BLS certified.

Driving is an essential function of this position. Successful applicants must provide a valid driver's license from their state of residence or obtain and submit one within 30 days of hire, maintain a safe driving record,and have the ability to pass an extensive background check through the VA.

This position requires the ability to frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, climb stairs, as well as lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds. It may require the ability to occasionally use ladders, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable. In addition, you must successfully complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, which require performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques and may require an individual to lift and transferclients.
