Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an ultrasound technologist to perform and document sonographic examinations, operate ultrasound equipment, and ensure high-quality images. The role includes patient preparation, image review, and occasional cross-training in specialty procedures.

Qualifications include RVT/ RVS certification, BLS/BART, and at least two years of clinical experience; strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program with emphasis in Vascular Technology.
• RVT by the ARDMS or RVS by the CCI.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience.
• Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and record all sonographic procedures and assist with some specialty procedures according to departmental guidelines.
• Operate ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices.
• Prepare and position patients to achieve high-quality images.
• Review and evaluate images for quality and completeness.
• Troubleshoot PACS issues; participate in performance improvement projects.
• Float within department as needed.
