Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform and document all sonographic examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and to assist with specialty procedures. You will operate ultrasound equipment, review images, and ensure the highest quality data for diagnostic interpretation.

The ideal candidate holds RVT or RVS certification and has at least two years of clinical experience, with strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program with emphasis in Vascular Technology.
• RVT by ARDMS or RVS by CCI.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• Two years of relevant clinical experience.
• Excellent communication skills and strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and record all sonographic procedures and assist with specialty procedures.
• Operate ultrasound equipment, transducers and recording devices.
• Review, verify and evaluate images to ensure excellent image quality.
• Troubleshoot PACS issues and participate in performance improvement projects.
• Floats within department as needed.
