Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans is seeking a General Ultrasound Tech with vascular experience for a full-time position at Kennedy University Hospitals in Turnersville, New Jersey. The Ultrasound Technologist will perform general ultrasound examinations under the direction of a radiologist and deliver patient care before, during and after imaging.

The role requires certification/registry, BLS, and 6 months to 1 year of experience; knowledge of RIS and PACS is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification
• Certification by RDMS, RVT or ARRT(S)
• Active BLS Certification
• 6 months to 1 year of ultrasound experience preferred
• Knowledge of RIS and PACS systems

Responsibilities

• Perform sonographic examinations and properly position patients for interpretation
• Instruct patients to ensure cooperation and optimal test results
• Assemble and deliver images and information to radiologist/physician for review
• Ensure safety and proper operation/maintenance of ultrasound equipment
• May mentor less experienced ultrasound technologists
• Carry out other duties as assigned by lead technologist or supervisor
