Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a General Ultrasound Tech with vascular experience to join our imaging team. The role includes mid or evening shifts with on-call duties every 8 or 9 weeks and participation in one summer and one winter holiday plan.

The position supports patient care across Jefferson sites, with on-site duties in Turnersville, NJ. Responsibilities include performing ultrasound exams, instructing patients, and ensuring accurate imaging and documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification, or currently holds required registry.
• Certification by RDMS, RVT or ARRT (S) and Active BLS Certification.
• 6 months to 1 year of ultrasound experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs general ultrasound examinations on patients using ultrasound equipment for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes; properly positions patients and scans areas for interpretation.
• Instructs patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Assembles patient information and images and delivers to radiologist/physician for interpretation following procedures.
• Maintains equipment and exam room in proper operating condition and ensures safety standards.
• Utilizes PACS and RIS software; updates patient records for billing and imaging review.
• May mentor less senior ultrasound technologists and perform other duties as assigned by lead technologist or supervisor.
