Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Vascular Ultrasonographer to perform non-invasive vascular imaging to support physicians in diagnosing and managing vascular conditions. You will operate ultrasound equipment, ensure patient safety, and follow established protocols to acquire high-quality images.

The role requires understanding vascular anatomy and hemodynamics, with emphasis on accuracy, patient comfort, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved discipline specific program (Required).
• BLS Provider - American Red Cross.
• Registered Technologist (Vascular Sonography) - ARRT.
• Reg Vascular Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Responsibilities

• Performs vascular ultrasound examinations using approved protocols to capture high-quality diagnostic images of arteries, veins, and other vascular structures.
• Obtains relevant clinical history from patient interviews, physician orders, or medical records to support accurate diagnostic imaging.
• Reviews and correlates prior imaging studies and patient history to optimize exam quality and relevance.
• Documents and records all pertinent anatomical and pathological findings in accordance with physician and department standards.
• Presents clinical findings and preliminary impressions to the interpreting physician to support diagnostic decisions.
• Maintains and operates ultrasound equipment, ensuring functionality, cleanliness, and readiness in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Maintains a safe and infection-controlled environment, applying proper procedures in accordance with hospital policy.
