Job summary

The University of Maryland Capital Region Health is seeking a PRN Vascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner to join our Heart & Vascular Institute. The APP will work with a multidisciplinary team to support inpatient vascular and thoracic surgical care.

Qualifications

BSN required and AGACNP/ACNP program
Maryland NP license (or eligibility) and current BLS/ACLS
Eligible for credentialing through UM Capital Region Health Medical Staff Office
One year vascular/thoracic/inpatient surgical experience preferred
ATLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans
Evaluate and manage vascular and thoracic surgical patients in inpatient settings
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and communicate results
Provide bedside procedures and wound management
First assist in the operating room when credentialed
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR
Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Participate in APP Council and institute meetings and mentorship opportunities
