Job summary

KC Vascular and General Surgery - NKC, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring a Vascular Technologist to perform non-invasive hemodynamic evaluations and document test results under physician direction.

The role requires at least one year of ultrasound experience, ARDMS or ARRT certification, and credentials such as Registered Vascular Tech or Registered Cardiac. You’ll join a team dedicated to high-quality patient care and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year experience as an ultrasound technologist/sonographer.
  • Must hold ARDMS or ARRT certification or be eligible.
  • Credentials: Registered Vascular Tech or Registered Cardiac preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vascular ultrasound procedures as directed by physicians.
  • Schedule patients for procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
  • Position patients and select the appropriate transducer.
  • Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment and adjust as needed.
  • Maintain exams and responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Takes patient history and retrieves previous files.
  • Coordinate patient flow and ensure all exams are complete.
  • Maintain department records, reports and files.
  • Maintain equipment and stock supplies.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Performs non-invasive hemodynamic evaluations and writes test results.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
  • Perform vascular ultrasonic procedures as directed by physicians.
  • Scheduling patients for procedures
  • Explaining procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
  • Positioning patients and selecting the appropriate transducer
  • Conducting scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment by moving scanner over specified body area and adjusting equipment to focus
  • Performs exams properly and in a timely manner
  • Takes patient history and retrieves previous files
  • Coordinates patient flow and checks daily list to ensure all exams are complete
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Ordering and stocking all supplies
  • Maintain department records, reports and files
EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE

Minimum one year experience as an ultrasound technologist/sonographer

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
  • Must be hold one or more of the following credentials: Registered Vascular Tech, Registered Cardiac
  • Sonographer OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in accordance with state regulation and clinical specialty
  • Must have certification through ARDMS OR ARRT.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manual Dexterity Exposure to toxic/caustic/chemicals, detergents
  • Full range of body motion to maneuver weight of patients
  • Exposure to extreme conditions (hot/cold)
  • Standing, walking Exposure to dust/fumes
  • Reach above shoulder Exposure to x-ray, electromagnetic energy
  • Repetitive arm/hand movements Exposure to high pitched noises
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of vascular sonography
  • Must have sufficient knowledge of anatomy and physiology pertaining to vascular examinations
  • Skill in problem solving
  • Skill in organization
  • Skill in taking vital signs
  • Skill in using basic office equipment, including computer, telephone, photocopier, and fax machine
  • Ability to operate ultrasound equipment in vascular lab
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work effectively under stress.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally
