Job summary

VillageMD is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform non-invasive cardiac ultrasound studies and deliver accurate echo images. You will report findings to physicians, educate patients, and ensure patient safety in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include RDCS or RCS certification, RVT, and strong English communication skills; 0–1 years required, 2–4 years preferred. ProSolv EMR and MUSE experience are a plus. On-site position in New York area.

Qualifications

• RDCS certification from ARDMS or RCS certification from the CCI required.
• RVT certification required.
• 0–1 years experience required; 2–4 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers non-invasive tests using ultrasound technology.
• Provides diagnostic echo images, correct views and accurate measurements for transthoracic and stress echoes.
• Reports abnormalities to the physician promptly.
• Assesses patients for risk factors and maintains patient safety and privacy.
• Educates patients on procedures and follows department protocols.
• Maintains equipment and performs routine quality control.

Promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.Appropriately educates and explains procedures to patients.Follows department protocol for procedures unless specified differently by the Cardiologist.Insures proper identification of patient.Provides for patient privacy. Acts as a patient advocate and uphold patient rights.Responds effectively in an emergency situation.Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.Documents patient history and demographics in ProSolvPrioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations. Is flexible to changing priorities.Consults and communicates with other departments in a professional manner.Employs tasking appropriately and timely.Follows department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems. Ensures equipment is in acceptable conditions by conducting routine quality control.Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:0 – 1 years experience required. 2-4 years experience preferred.RDCS Certification from the ARDMS or RCS Certification from the CCI is required.
