Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiography, prepare patients, and position them for imaging with a focus on ALARA principles.

Ideal candidates have ARRT certification, CPR, and at least 6 months of radiology experience. The role includes travel between satellite locations and maintaining imaging equipment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved radiological program.
• Excellent technical skills and knowledge of imaging.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to radiography.
• Familiar with radiation protection and ALARA standards.
• Current ARRT (R) certification and CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine diagnostic radiologic procedures with proper technique.
• Explains and prepares patients for radiographic procedures.
• Properly positions patients to achieve diagnostic quality images.
• Operates radiographic equipment and ensures high-quality radiographs.
• Maintains and calibrates radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms.
• Enters information into PACS for insurance and records.

(As low as reasonable achievable) standardsMaintains radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms in proper working condition.Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisor.Follows the clinic exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogensMay be required by their manager/lead to perform other duties which may be necessary or desirablePACSEnters appropriate information into PACS to ensure proper insurance payments.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to sit at a computer for long period of times. Must be able to distinguish colorsWork Environment:Fast-paced environment especially in dealing with urgent care situations. Direct patient and client contact while delivering services and treatment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposure to blood or other human bodily fluids. Some weekend and evening hours may be required during peak times. Minimum of 6 mos experience in radiology imaging modalities is preferred.Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Excellent technical skills, pursues training and development opportunities. Knowledge of mathematical factors and equations used in imaging selection techniques. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of radiologic equipment and testing. Knowledge of safety hazards related to radiology. Sill in patient assessment. Knowledge of aseptic techniques. Skill in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging. Knowledge of IV and digestible contrast medias. Knowledge of common pharmaceuticals. Skill in troubleshooting equipment. Skill in training co-workers in equipment operations. Knowledge of Microsoft office programs.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists AART(R) and OBMI.
