Job summary

South Shore Health System in Weymouth, MA, seeks a Physician Assistant specialized in Vascular Surgery to evaluate, treat, and manage vascular patients. The role encompasses clinic work, operating room assistance, and in-hospital postoperative care under MD supervision.

Responsibilities include history taking, preoperative evaluation, order entry, wound care, and discharge planning, with prescriptive authority within regulatory guidelines. Prior PA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Prefer two or more years of practice.
• ACNP - Adult Nurse Practitioner license may be required per state guidelines.
• PA license required and monitored by Medical Staff Services.
• Prescriptive authority per Massachusetts regulations (Class II–V).

Responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive history and present to attending physician.
• Assist in surgery and postoperative care; order labs and radiology.
• Manage preoperative evaluation and clinic duties at South Shore Hospital and Brigham and Women's Surgical Associates.
• Develop care plans, discharge planning, and prescriptions.
• Follow state and national guidelines for PA practice and emergency management.
