Job summary

The Division Chief will oversee five vascular surgeons and associated APPs, recruit faculty, drive quality initiatives, and collaborate with UT Austin partners to advance patient care and education across the system.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Vascular Surgery or board-eligible.
• Demonstrated leadership in an academic clinical division.
• Strong teaching and resident education experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary academic environment.
• Innovative self-starter committed to excellence.
• Eligible for appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Section of Vascular Surgery within the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
• Recruit and retain faculty; manage program development and growth.
• Build regional referral programs and set division strategy.
• Oversee clinical practice across open and endovascular care.
• Engage in medical student education and resident training; participate in GME activities.
• Lead scholarly activity, quality improvement, and clinical research.
• Collaborate with academic partners and affiliated institutions to advance care and outcomes.
