Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for Vascular Surgery on a PRN basis. The role supports Inova Mount Vernon and Inova Alexandria locations, involving 10-hour days, weekends, and holidays, with potential hospital consults.

The APP will exercise independent judgement in assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes in collaboration with vascular surgeons. Emphasis on team-based care, evidence-based practice, and cost-effective patient management.

Qualifications

• Independent judgement in assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration within an integrated team-based approach.

Responsibilities

• Practice according to safe and ethical standards of care.
• Communicate with physicians, peers, nursing staff and admin.
• Develop plans of care based on data collection and findings.
• Document patient care and progress notes (pre/post operative).
• Support quality improvement initiatives and cost-conscious care.
• Act as role model/preceptor for new APPs and students.
• Assist in development and revision of care standards.
