Job summary

University Health Associates (UHA) seeks an Advanced Practice Professional to provide coordinated, patient-centered vascular surgery care. The APP will work with physicians, nurses, and the health team to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients, including perioperative and discharge planning.

The role supports residents and medical/nursing students, adheres to licensure standards, and requires BLS with department-ordered ALS as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master's Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• RNFA certification for First Assist in the OR (as part of role).
• American Heart Association BLS Certification with advanced Life Support as required.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for vascular surgery patients across inpatient post-discharge and ambulatory settings.
• Completes daily rounds, pre-procedure evaluations and integrated assessments.
• Performs and communicates results of diagnostic tests following clinical guidelines.
• Facilitates discharge planning and necessary referrals to health team members.
• Develops an individualized plan of care including teaching and follow-up.
