Rush University Medical Center in downtown Chicago is seeking a Vascular Surgeon to join a growing academic practice. The role includes coverage across Rush University Medical Center and affiliate campuses, with teaching responsibilities and involvement in an integrated, multidisciplinary care team.

You will perform the full spectrum of vascular procedures in a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room and engage in scholarly activities, research, and departmental leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO or equivalent degree.
  • Academic credentials for Associate Professor or Professor level.
  • Minimum five years post-training experience in vascular surgery.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited vascular surgery fellowship.
  • Board certified in Vascular Surgery by the ABS.
  • Illinois medical license preferred or eligible.

Vascular Surgeon – Clinical Faculty

Rush Heart & Vascular, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, is seeking a Vascular Surgeon to join our growing practice in downtown Chicago.

Position Highlights:
  • Rush Heart & Vascular’s downtown Chicago practice is based at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges.
  • Clinical responsibilities include coverage at Rush University Medical Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital, Rush Copley Medical Center, Rush North & Harlem Outpatient Center, and Franciscan Health in Northwest Indiana.
  • Join a collaborative team of six vascular surgeons and four advanced practice providers, along with a strong multidisciplinary group at Rush Copley Medical Center.
  • Deliver comprehensive vascular care within a fully integrated academic and clinical environment, encompassing both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Opportunity to perform the full spectrum of vascular procedures in a new state-of-the-art hybrid operating room, including complex aortic surgery, while actively engaging in teaching and other academic activities.
Qualifications:
  • MD, DO, MD/PhD, DO/PhD, or equivalent degree.
  • Academic credentials appropriate for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of post-training experience in vascular surgery required.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited vascular surgery fellowship.
  • Board certified in Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS).
  • Illinois medical license preferred or eligibility for licensure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, strong communication skills, and collaborative, team-based care.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay Range: $507,400 - $695,550
