Job description

Rush Heart & Vascular, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, is seeking a Vascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing practice in downtown Chicago.

Position Highlights

• Rush Heart & Vascular’s downtown Chicago practice is based at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges.
• Join a collaborative team of six vascular surgeons and four advanced practice providers.
• This position is primarily based at Rush’s downtown Chicago campus and follows a Monday–Friday schedule consisting of four 10-hour shifts, with no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities.
• Provide care for patients with complex medical conditions across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost-effective and quality patient care.
• Exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards.
• Meet all state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• APRN candidates must hold Acute Care Certification (required).
• Prior APP experience in Vascular Surgery is strongly preferred; relevant RN experience may also be considered.
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, strong communication skills, and collaborative, team-based care.

Position Requirements

Nurse Practitioner

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process.
• Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position.
• Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP).
• CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Physician Assistant

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process.
• Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program.
• Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
