Job summary

Capyear is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Vascular Surgery department in an ambulatory care setting in Baltimore. The role involves clinical tasks (venipuncture, exams, vital signs) and administrative duties under supervision of a physician/provider and/or RN.

Occasional site float within the system may occur. The ideal candidate has an active CMA or RMA certification process and strong patient interaction skills, with 0–1 year of ambulatory care experience; full-time, Monday–Friday

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Experience: less than 1 year in ambulatory care or equivalent; externship preferred.
• Licenses: CMA or RMA within 1 year; CPR certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies and safety standards.
• Assists providers with patient preparation, exams, and education; supports care team for patient flow.
• Screens patients for preventative care needs and barriers to care; documents in EMR.
• Performs patient/testing tasks including phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, and specimen handling.
• Documents activities in EMR and coordinates with care team; participates in meetings and safety initiatives.
