Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a registered nurse to join our outpatient nursing team in Columbus, OH. You will provide skilled nursing services under the direction of a physician, collecting patient data, and collaborating with the healthcare team to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

You will develop and implement care plans, educate patients and families, and ensure high-quality care across diverse outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
• Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment.
• Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a physician or midlevel provider, and provides a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Collect patient health data, analyze the data to determine diagnoses, identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain the expected outcomes
• Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, and evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of the outcomes
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team
• Perform professional nursing work of considerable difficulty including the care of patients as outlined by physicians and the objectives and policies of the organization
• Provide patient and family health education and health assessment.
