Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Completion of a vascular technology training program or vascular ultrasound curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Operates TOCM, ultrasound systems and pulse volume recorder.
• Ensures each patient has a proper order or prescription for the test.
• Performs vascular assessment using Doppler, palpation and blood pressure measurements.
• Documents findings and prepares preliminary reports.
• Collects insurance and demographic information for billing.
• Maintains accurate departmental records and assists clerical staff.
• Explains procedures to patients and assists with positioning and safety.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA.
• Keeps knowledge up to date through literature and conferences.
• Participates in new staff orientation and mandatory education.
