Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Vascular Stepdown Intermediate Care unit (9 Kaufman). The role involves caring for vascular surgery, telemetry, and transplant patients in a 24-bed IMC unit with Magnet status. New grads may join the 11-week Transition to Practice program; starting pay for new grads is $36/hour.

This full-time position features day or night shifts, a 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• 11-week Transition to Practice program for new grads
• Starting pay rate for new graduates <1 year is $36.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Uphold standards of practice and professional performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver high-acuity care.
• Support patient education and discharge planning.
