Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System seeks a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform vascular diagnostic testing and report preliminary findings for physician interpretation. You will ensure patient comfort, document health histories, and collaborate with other departments to optimize care.

Minimum qualifications include an Associates or Bachelor's in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS credentials (or board-eligibility with certification within 12 months).

Qualifications

• Education: Associates or bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS or board-eligible with certification within 12 months.
• Experience: Minimum one year cardiovascular imaging preferred.
• Effective communication skills and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician orders to ensure correct procedure and correctly identifies patients.
• Performs all studies according to policy and procedures and standards established by accrediting body.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers questions; ensures patient comfort.
• Obtains health history and enters data in diagnostic testing equipment and documentation system.
• Communicates pertinent patient data to team members and collaborates with other departments.
• Knowledgeable about testing equipment; performs basic troubleshooting and participates in new equipment evaluation.
• Maintains professional development, registry status, and annual competencies; participates in accreditation processes.
• Uses computer systems for timekeeping, clinical information and intranet; participates in PI activities.

Education

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

ARDMS RVT certification
