Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio is seeking a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform vascular diagnostic testing and report preliminary findings for physician interpretation. The role emphasizes quality patient care, accurate documentation, and active involvement in accreditation processes.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, conducting all studies per policy, collaborating with departments, and staying current with equipment and competency requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS certification either already held or eligible for certification within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum one year of cardiovascular imaging experience; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician orders to ensure correct procedure and correctly identifies patients.
• Performs all studies according to policy and procedures and standards; reports abnormal findings.
• Obtains health history and enters data into diagnostic systems; ensures accuracy of reports prior to dispatch.
• Communicates pertinent patient data to team members and collaborates across departments for optimal care.
• Knowledgeable of equipment; performs basic troubleshooting and participates in evaluation of new equipment.
• Maintains professional development; pursues registry and completes annual competencies.
